Membership Information
Membership includes membership to the Herb Society of America and all of it's benefits. Membership rates are on an annual basis beginning the month of May. A Unit Member will contact you with more information.
The membership shall be open to anyone with the desire to learn about, or share, his or her love of herbs. The Unit will not discriminate based on race, physical handicap, color, religion, sex, economic circumstance, or national origin in any of its policies or programs. Each member is entitled to one vote on all matters that require a vote.
Club Information
The Northeast Wisconsin Unit started as a small herb study group. In 2002 we became a Unit under the parent Organization of The Herb Society of America.
Our meetings are held at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens on the second Tuesday of each month. During the summer we hold meetings at members homes. We start with a business meeting followed by an herb study session. During our herb study portion we discuss the “herb of the month”. Everyone is encouraged to participate by providing information they have or find by some other source.
Some of the things we do as a club are: Booth at the Garden Faire at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens, Faerie Fest at Thistledown Greenhouse, Spring Tea at the GBBG, Decorate Heritage Hill for Christmas, self guided tours at the Maribel caves in search of wild growing herbs and other treasures, and making Sauerkraut, elderberry syrup, and horehound cough drops.
We also have a book club that meets every other month.
